Identity Theft Notification - from Cyberspace Right to Your Fingers
Malibu, CA - CardCops.com and Who? Systems of Mountain Top, Pennsylvania, have entered into an agreement to facilitate the notification process of potential Identity Theft victims. Recently,
Congress has had discussions of passing a national data disclosure law, similar to a California law, which would require companies to
notify American consumers should their personal information be compromised via a security breach or hack. This agreement to merge the technologies of CardCops and Who? Systems will achieve this goal. CardCops, which scours the internet for compromised credit cards and personal identifiable information (PII), currently notifies the consumer by email or phone via its product ID Protect. Expanding this notification process to the Who?System hand held electronic wallet will put the exposed data directly into the hands of the American consumer.
"This immediate notification process of cyberspace data directly into the hands of the consumers is really a soup-to-nuts approach", explains Dan Clements, CEO of CardCops.com, "it by-passes banks and law enforcement and gives the consumers more direct power over protecting their own financial identity".
Who?Systems electronic wallet provides additional personal and identity theft protection aside from the notification function. Should the device be breached in any way, it will send a signal to a central server, where immediate notification to banks and e-commerce companies may prevent fraudulent activity. The device can also offer personal protection to the user by notifying law enforcement upon an unauthorized breach of the device or through the use of a duress code or panic button.
Pat Wills, CEO of Who? Systems says, "The marriage of our patented electronic wallet technology and CardCops products will produce the first truly comprehensive proactive tool for the American consumer to control their personal information."
CardCops.com and Who? Systems are currently identifying funding and technology partners.
